TAJIKISTAN – THE JOURNEY GOES TO 'WORLD'S ROOF' 

Welcome to one of the world's highest countries, hence the term 'The World's Roof'. Tajikistan is often called a land of rivers and mountains, but it varies from 300 meters in some places to 7,495 meters altitude in the mountains, such as peak Somoni. Tajikistan borders Afghanistan to the south, Uzbekistan to the west, Kyrgyzstan to the north and China to the east.

Tajikistan has been inhabited since the Early Stone Age. The area was Persian-controlled from the 6'th century BC, later conquered by Alexander the Great in 329 BC Since the country was conquered by Arab, Mongolian and Russian empires.

The Silk Road, which was an important trade route between China and Europe, passed through Tajikistan. It is a beautiful country with an untouched nature, which goes far from the Fann Mountains in the West to the rocky high Pamir Mountains in the Eastern region.

Tajikistan can boast both with the most remote and unexplored regions in the world and the oldest historic cities that are more than 5,500 years old. It is the smallest country in Central Asia, but, like its neighbor Kyrgyzstan, it is a mountainous and wonderful. The country has exciting panorama of white peaks and green, subtropical valleys.

The contrasts are alive and kicking in Tajikistan. The country is filled with citrus, grapes and cotton plantations. You can see rare high-flying eagles over mountain glaciers and rushing rivers. Here are silent stone fortresses, there are over 2300 years old. There is is a multicultural mix of regional ethnic groups, Tajik people are going to welcome you with their hospitality, their traditions and enthusiasm.
